The common Wasp, Vespa Vulgaris, is the most prolific wasp found in the UK.
Its habitats could be anywhere in and around your home, such as loft space, cavity walls, stables, hedges, trees and even holes in the ground. These nests should be avoided at all times and entrance holes never blocked. The potential of aggravating the nest can bring out hundreds of bad tempered wasps which can sting repeatedly!
Useful information if a wasp is found inside the home: Walk slowly, open all windows, leave the room and shut the door behind you!
Potential harm: Some people have immediate allergic reaction to being stung, such as an anaphylactic shock, which can be fatal. This affects approximately 3 people in 100.
Potential risk for the elderly, pregnant women and children.
